Cup Series Championship: NASCAR DFS Rankings and Projections For DraftKings

Hello everyone and welcome to my NASCAR DFS Rankings and Projections for DraftKings.

STRATEGY

This Championship race is 312-laps, meaning we have +/- 220 “dominator” points (laps led & fastest laps) to chase on DraftKings. These points will be needed to win any sort of contest, so we will be trying to capture as many of them as we possibly can.

It’s hard not to look at the Championship 4 when looking to secure these points.

Here are the laps led by Championship drivers during the recent Championship races:

Phoenix 2021: 88% of the laps between 3 Championship Drivers

Championship Drivers finished 1-2-3-5

Phoenix 2020: 94% of the laps between 3 Championship Drivers

Championship Drivers finished 1-2-3-4

Homestead 2019: 99.6% of the laps between all 4 Championship Drivers

Championship Drivers finished 1-2-4-10

Homestead 2018: 67% of the laps between all 4 Championship Drivers

Championship Drivers finished 1-2-3-4

So, you get the point. It’s smart to target at least 2 Championship drivers in every lineup.

Here are your Championship 4 (Chastain/Bell/Elliott/Logano):

Once your dominators/drivers with the highest ceilings are in place, you’ll be looking to round out your lineups with drivers who are:

Starting in a position that, if they can finish within a few spots of that starting position, would be good value.

-And/Or-

Starting in a position where we think they have nice positive place differential potential.

Remember, these aren’t always “plug & play” projections. If you are using an optimizer, make sure you read what the “Green” “Yellow” Orange” & “Red” colors mean, and adjust your exposure accordingly.

DRAFTKINGS RANKS

Green: My favorite plays. Will try to have the highest exposure on these drivers.

Yellow: Will try to include them where I can, to help diversify and create different lineup combos.

Orange: Low owned and/or high risk/reward type of play. Would sprinkle into some lineups if making 20+.

Red: I am fine fading this driver completely.
