Ladies and gentlemen, Here we go again! It’s #TruckNightInAmerica, and this time the series heads “home” to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200. As the series heads to the Queen City, this will be the fifth time the Trucks have raced on a similar track type so we have plenty of data to pull from.
Before we dive into our Best Bets & DFS plays for this weekend’s race, let’s look back on yet another INCREDIBLE betting card! After an exciting finish and final lap pass in Texas, it was Stewart Friesen taking home the victory, and scoring his first win of the season.
Christian Eckes started 3rd and finished 2nd which scored us our first key H2H win vs Carson Hocevar. Next, we successfully called out Ty Majeski over Corey Heim, which also hit, and gave us our second key H2H victory. With the two H2H DraftKings victories cashing for us, it was “The People’s Parlay” (+230 at Texas), that moved our Best Bets record to a RED-HOT 12-3 record on the year!
We now turn our attention to another 1.5-mile track, and once again, I found three key positions that we can get on prior to practice and qualifying.
After rewatching last year’s race at Charlotte, and diving into a few key 2022 Truck Series metrics, I found a few favorable H2H matchups and one finishing position bet that you should definitely consider. For those that live in a state that offers various digital sportsbooks, take advantage of shopping around lines. The books are getting tougher and tougher with some of these matchups and it’s always important to grab the best line available.
On Friday night, #51 Kyle Busch, #17 Ryan Preece, and #41 Ross Chastain all join the Truck Series in what is shaping up to be a tremendous race. With knowledge of last year’s race, and identifying some key trends in the 2022 season, I’m pumped about the Best Bets below, and think we stay red-hot! It’s Friday Night, under the lights for #TruckNightInAmerica!
NASCAR Trucks Best Bets: North Carolina Education Lottery 200
#19 Derek Kraus -115 vs. #25 Matt DiBenedetto -115 (Barstool Sportsbook)
For our first play this week, I want to look at a H2H matchup that I absolutely love. Kraus started to show me something at Kansas that caught my eye, and it even translated last week before he was taken out. He’s getting faster each week, and as a result, his confidence is starting to show.
When I look at comparable tracks to Charlotte, it’s Kansas that I pull a lot of metrics from. For Derek, 1.5-mile tracks with multiple groves are where he really shows up. On the flip side, Matt DiBenedetto has three finishes P30 or worse, and has been a mid-tier Truck for most of the season.
For me, I’m putting my money on Kraus -115 to win this H2H. He has shown me more than enough to believe he’s the right side in this matchup, and I’m locking it in before the market moves.
#17 Ryan Preece -120 vs. #42 Carson Hocevar -107 (Barstool Sportsbook)
For our second H2H matchup, I’m finding plenty of value on the Preece -120 side, and after his performance at Texas last week, sign me up! Preece won both stages and had an average running position of 5.5 with a P3 finish. He has shown GREAT speed these past few weeks, and I’m pumped to get him at this number against Hocevar.
Not only do I think Preece wins this H2H, but he could even back up his P3 finish from last week. He’s just that good right now.
Carson has been running fairly well these past few weeks, but I believe he has a down weekend after many will say he’s coming in with “momentum”. I anticipate Preece being ahead in this H2H matchup early and often.
#99 Ben Rhodes Top-5 +250 (DraftKings Sportsbook)
This is an absolute wild number in my opinion. Ben Rhodes in 2022 already has five Top-5 finishes, and to know that I can grab him at +250 is a tremendous value. In six career Charlotte starts, he has five top-10 finishes, including a P3 finish last year.
What’s even better? He has three Top-5 finishes in his last four starts! Lock this up right now at +250 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
DraftKings DFS Driver Picks: North Carolina Education Lottery 200
#51 Kyle Busch – ($14.4k)
Kyle Busch is the highest priced driver on DraftKings for a reason. He’s the most experienced driver, and arguably will be the one with the fastest truck come Friday. Busch has a strong chance of leading the majority of this race and has been clicking off really fast laps from start to finish.
He’s not had a win yet in this truck, so Friday could be his day. If so, I want to be cashing in with KFB in any and all DFS lineups.
#66 Ty Majeski- ($8.3k)
Arguably the most value on the board sits with a guy reasonably low on the list. Ty has been really fast in recent weeks and if he’s able to qualify well and get some fresh air, it could be lights out for him with the #66 truck. We obviously know he has talent and speed, and with a price point at $8.3k, I will definitely have a large percentage of Ty in my lineups at Charlotte.
