SRS Distribution 250: NASCAR Xfinity Betting Preview and DFS Driver Picks For DraftKings

Two weeks ago, Justin Allgaier claimed the track “too tough to tame” as he drove his #7 JRM car to victory in yet another 1-2 finish for Jr Motorsports as teammate Noah Gragson finished second. The Truck and Cup series then headed to Kansas Speedway last week and put on quite a show. While the Xfinity Series got a much-deserved week off.

Now it’s All-Star weekend for the NASCAR Cup Series stars. But it’s back to business as usual for the stars of NASCAR’S Xfinity Series. The SRS Distribution 250 is a regular season points paying race. Cup All-Stars William Byron (#88 JRM) and Tyler Reddick (#48 Big Machine Racing) are moonlighting down in this series this week as they warm-up for Sunday’s shot at one million dollars.

Qualifying showed JR Motorsports speed once again. Noah Gragson put his #9 Chevrolet on the pole. Tyler Reddick will start outside row one. William Byron struggled for speed a little with a fifteenth-place qualifying effort from the Cup driver with two victories this season. The green flag for the SRS Distribution 250 is scheduled for 1:30 pm ET on Saturday.

NASCAR Xfinity Best Bets:

Sheldon Creed Over Jeffery Earnhardt (-150)

Earnhardt was a great story all weekend at Talladega, finishing in second place. However, I think that has led to him being overmatched here. This week he is in a Sam Hunt Racing car, that has had decent runs but the car and driver aren’t up to the same level as Creed and his Richard Childress Racing #2. While Creed has struggled some this season I expect his race to be much smoother than Earnhardt’s tonight. Creed qualified and will start twenty-first, Earnhardt a lackluster thirty-fifth well over a second off the pace of pole winner Noah Gragson.

Cody’s Favorite Bet: Tyler Reddick over Josh Berry (-120)

While Berry has a win at Dover this year and JRM has by far been the best team, Berry has been very inconsistent. We talked about this on the (NASCAR GAMBLING PODCAST) this week. Eighteenth at Darlington, eleventh at Talladega, nineteenth at Martinsville. JRM is also running a fifth car this week potentially stretching out resources. Reddick meanwhile is a top performer in the NASCAR cup series and ran very well in his one Xfinity start in this 48 car in Darlington until a late-race incident cost him a strong finish. Reddick is clearly the better driver and in good enough equipment to easily win this matchup.

To Win: Tyler Reddick (+700)

On my podcast, I picked William Byron to win this race. And I still think he has a very good chance to do so and is by far the best driver in this race. However two-time Xfinity Series Champion Tyler Reddick is the next best guy. Reddick qualified second showing great speed in that Big Machine Racing #48. Reddick will let it all hang out Saturday and look for him to be in the mix at the end.

NASCAR Xfinity DraftKings DFS Picks:

DFS Top Play: William Byron ($11,000)

I just talked about why I love the Cup Series regular to win. And I think he is the best driver in this field. He also starts fifteenth so this gives him a huge place differential upside. He won his one start so far this year in the Truck Series and is in the best equipment in the field. Don’t overthink this one and play Byron.

Dominator Play Noah Gragson ($10,500)

Gragson has been one of the best this season. With two wins this year and coming off a second place at Darlington and a fourth the week before at Dover. Gragson has shown he’s going to be up front. He starts on the pole and if he can grab the early lead and hold off Tyler Reddick for a bit he may dominate a good portion of this race.

Great Play Aj Allmendinger ($9,700)

I think Dinger will be a little overlooked here with all the big names ahead of him. Allmendinger has finished top-9 in all eleven Xfinity races this season. He has been the model of consistency, don’t expect him to go lead a ton of laps here. But starting in thirteenth offers a little place differential and solid finishing position points for the driver of the #16.

Value Play: Landon Cassill ($8,300)

Cassill hit the wall in practice and his Kaulig Racing team had to go to the backup car. Cassill was unable to qualify and will start last in thirty-eighth position. Cassill has five top-12 finishes in a row and is solidly in 11th in the points standings. Backups haven’t seemed to be an issue for bigger teams this season and Cassill should be able to get a solid finish.
