It’s time for the first night race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Blue Emu 400 At Martinsville Speedway. This glorious race is what I’ve been craving. New cars, short track, hot dogs under the lights…Shit …that makes my jorts wet, and so does thinking about playing DFS.
William Byron scored his first win at the paperclip on Thursday night, and the beauty was that we had another race where we didn’t make the insane mistake of betting on Kyle Busch at minus odds.
I’m currently sitting in the Martinsville Media Center writing this and watching the Xfinity race, so I don’t know what happens yet, and I probably won’t update this. Let’s just hope that Dale Jr. wins so that people will go absolutely bonkers in the NASCAR world. There’s this random hotel in Martinsville where people are burning fires in barrels, so I’m sure the fire department would be called at some point.
Now y’all know I couldn’t kick this article off without some Hot Dog shenanigans, and there will be more to come on Saturday. Hopefully, we will be garnishing the DOGS with cash Saturday night as well. If these guys listed in this article do what I expect them to do, I will be buying us all Martinsville dogs, but I’m not refrigerator mailing them to you, and they will come in an envelope (sorry).

NASCAR DFS Lineup Picks For Martinsville | DraftKings & FanDuel
#9 Chase Elliott (DraftKings – $11.2K | FanDuel – $13.5K)
Chase Elliott has grabbed the pole at Martinsville, and his confidence this week seems legit. He is showing some good long run speed based on lap averages and has the best pit stall at the paperclip which should help with domination. If we’re riding continued trends this season, Elliott has put himself in a prime position to be the next winner in 2022.
#24 William Byron (DraftKings – $9.5K | FanDuel – $10.5K)
Byron has already had a win at this track this week, and he had an excellent practice run followed by securing a P5 spot on the grid in qualifying. His lap times show that he could quickly run up front and challenge for the lead, and if all goes well, be a dominator in this race. I can’t see anything worse than a Top 10 for Byron this week.
#8 Tyler Reddick (DraftKings – $8.6K | FanDuel – $8.5K)
I’ve heard enough about my continued interest in Tyler Reddick this season, but I’ve seen enough to give me a reason to keep riding with Red Dog this season. Reddick qualified P22 and should be able to work through traffic like a needle threading a fine quilt, sweater, or a clock cover (he may need it after the race you never know). At his price, I like him over the other options and feel a lot more comfortable trusting in that term we call “Parity” this week.
#42 Ty Dillon (DraftKings – $5.5K | FanDuel – $3.5K)
This was a play that I couldn’t pass up, based on past statistics and place differential potential starting P34. Ty Dillon has everything he needs to get himself a Top 20 finish in this race, and the only thing in his way is the back end squad he’ll have to fight through. Ty has three Top 20 finishes at this track, and his most recent one came the last time he raced here (a P16 finish in 2020).
