XPEL 225: NASCAR Trucks DFS Driver Picks For DraftKings

It’s another weekend with NASCAR Trucks DFS, and we’re on road for the XPEL 225 at Circuit of The Americas in Austin Texas. It’s great to be back in Tejas and this time its all sunshine for COTA weekend. Unfortunately theres no Truck Night at COTA, and with no rain means no wet jorts on Truck Night.

There are some pretty good drivers of road participating on Saturday, so we could experience a big “Stars and Scrubs” DFS day. The one thing to remember when doing some self study is to not look too deep into last seasons race stats at this track. It was raining its ass off and while you may find use looking at those stats, I say proceed with caution and treat this as a brand new experience.

Some notable non regular season drivers for this race include Kyle Busch (who will probably win), Alex Bowman, Parker Kleigerman, Kaz Grala, Sheldon Creed (Truck God I), and debut driver Brad Perez (AKA Bread Perez). With Busch and Creed in the mix, I would say alot of salary cap should flow in their direction. Having KFB is a must, but be sure to diversify by playing multiple lineups.

EXPEL 225: NASCAR Trucks DFS Driver Picks For DraftKings

#51 Kyle Busch (DraftKings – $13K)

Kyle Busch has yet to win any type of race in 2022, but being on road in the Camping World Truck Series could change that. I look for KFB to make P1 pretty fast starting in P5 and could easily be a dominator of this race. He won the Xfinity series race here last season, so don’t get too contrarian.

#25 Matt DiBenedetto (DraftKings – $8.9K)

Ole Debbie (Matt DiBenetto’s Garage Guys Nickname) didnt make a qualifying attempt due to a broken track bar, and this makes him the place differential potential chalk of the weekend. Debeneddo was 7th fastest in practice, and should easily make up some ground on Saturday. He starts P36.

#91 Colby Howard (DraftKings – $7.1K)

Colby Howard didn’t have impressive practice speed, and only ran four laps. What is impressive though is his lap averages. According to my projections, we should see about 8% ownership for Colby, so he could be a big difference maker with a Top 20 day. Howard starts P26 on Saturday, and is my mid tier guy to shake things up with your lineups.

#02 Kaz Grala (DraftKings – $6.6K)

Grala has shown us what he can do on Road, and because we’re camping in spot 50 at COTA, I’m kicking the luck spot off early. Grala will be in a Young’s Motorsports truck, and his talent should deliver a solid finish for the group. He starts P18 on Saturday.
