Good morning to all the beautiful NASCAR DFS players and bettors on this planet. It’s all about America this weekend as it’s gonna be a phenomenal time for family, friends, and racing, and we get to kick it off with the NASCAR Xfinity Series return to Road America for the Henry 180.
If Daniel Hemric doesn’t make another bonehead move to give away his first career win for the 78th time, the picks for the last two weeks would be absolutely spot on. Looks like he will wait another week, because the field this weekend is overwhelmed with star power.
Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick return to get extra track time and compete for the win on Saturday, and road course ringers such as Kaz Grala, Spencer Pumpelly, Boris Said, Preston Pardus, Andy Lally and more return to the circuit to give it their best efforts.
The prodigy returns as well; that damn Gibbs boy is back, and he’s driving a sharp #81 JGR Toyota. Seriously, it looks awesome.
The three previous road courses in the 2021 season were won by Ty Gibbs, Kyle Busch, and AJ Allmendinger, respectively. It’s stunning to me that Cindric is 0-3 on road courses this season.
Cindric completed the fastest lap in practice on Friday afternoon. He has an impressive resume at Road America with a 2nd place finish in 2019 and a win in the 2020 race.
The #22 team rolls into Wisconsin with some excellent momentum after picking up the win at Pocono. They also dominated at Mid-Ohio a few weeks back before a late-race caution derailed their seemingly imminent win.
Let’s get right into it.
NASCAR DFS Xfinity Picks For DraftKings
Noah Gragson: #9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet – $9,700
I know his luck has been impressively bad all season, but he’s starting dead last after an engine failure in practice. He’s gonna have a fast car, and he’s a solid road racer with solid past results at Road America.
He finished 6th in this race last year and 4th in the race in 2019. Chalk, chalk, chalk. Gotta take Gragson today.
Austin Cindric: #22 Penske Racing Ford – $10,700
The continuous battle between AJ and Cindric at these road courses continue. And now you gotta throw Ty Gibbs and KFB into the equation? So annoying.
But that’s what I’m here for. Like I said earlier, it’s astonishing Cindric doesn’t have a road course win this season in three tries. I think that changes today.
You know damn well Cindric feels like he has so much to prove. Getting a road course win with this kind of stiff competition would be huge. I know he must think he’s the best road racer in the series.
We’re playing the chip on the shoulder card today boys. But also, he’s fast as hell. Book Cindric in your lineups.
Riley Herbst: #98 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford – $7,100
Herbst has been so bad this year, but I believe he can certainly run Top 15 today. At his price and starting position of P34, he is absolutely worth a play.
I’m going with the strategy that others will take themselves out and he will benefit by process of elimination. I’m not hammering Herbst in every single lineup, but I will take some chances. I think he runs Top 20.
Tommy Joe Martins: #44 Martins Motorsports Chevrolet – $4,900
Road is not TJM’s strength. However, for him to be at this price is a travesty. He can run Top 20.
His road course results have been disappointing this year with two DNF’s and a P24. But he starts 33rd and he finished 16th in this race last season.
Keep it together TJM. I’m expecting a Top 25 day today. Mississippi pride all the way.
