Pit Boss 250: NASCAR DFS Xfinity Series Picks for DraftKings

COTA! Circuit of the Americas takes the flag this weekend as the NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Austin, Texas for the Pit Boss 250. My NASCAR DFS picks are going to be like my truck picks. I’ll provide more information as we go.

As I write this, I’m filled with nostalgia. It’s been over two years since I was last at a race where I was woken up by qualifying/practice in the morning. It’s one of my favorite parts of being at a track.

There’s literally quite nothing like being woken up by badass, beautiful racing machines in the AM. I can be pretty sarcastic, but this is serious. I’m obsessed with it.

The snowflakes in Nashville may disagree.

Ouch. Burn. Sorry. I swear I’m a nice person. Ask anybody.

Here’s the deal. I’m gonna write about four drivers pre-qualifying. Once qualifying is over, I will provide updates and adjustments (especially with punt plays).

Let’s get after it.

NASCAR DFS Xfinity Picks For DraftKings

Austin Cindric: #22 Penske Racing Ford – $10,700

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Cindric finally came through last weekend and bagged me some cash by winning at Dover. The question remains: do I still hate him?

Yeah; kinda.

With that considered, the more he pulls through for me the more he will come around for me. It’s obvious: win me money and I tend to like you.

Anyway, the resume is absolutely incredible. This guy’s road racing abilities are phenomenal as his diversified auto racing background has really proven to shape him into a perennial superstar.

P2 at the Daytona Road Course this year with a destroyed racecar and multiple road course wins throughout his young NASCAR career leave this pick as a no-brainer for me.

Brett Moffitt: #02 Our Motorsports Chevrolet – $5,700

Moffitt has made it clear that he is a talented racecar driver. His team is solid and consistently improving.

So, I’m pretty baffled at his price for this race today. I don’t expect him to knock it out of the park in qualifying with all of the Cup ringers in the field, and I expect a solid Top 15 or Top 10 finish out of him.

I know the stats don’t necessarily back this up, but he’s been stricken by bad luck at two of the last three races where he was knocked out of the races early. In a full race that he put together at the Daytona road course, he finished 11th.

I just don’t see how you can pass him up at this price. The driver is too good and the vehicle is certainly competitive enough to run around the Top 10.

AJ Allmendinger: #16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet – $10,400

I love AJ today. Had he not made a serious blunder at the Daytona road course earlier this season when he wrecked himself and Austin Cindric, he probably could’ve scooted away with the victory.

The weather here is horrendous. It seems like it’s gonna be a consistent rain all day. AJ benefits greatly from the adverse weather conditions compared to the competition.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Gotta go with AJ today. I love these prices today because all these Cup ringers are forcing the salaries down. AJ and Cindric typically should be well over 10K at any road course.

Take the bargain. AJ is gonna be a serious threat to win this race.

Alex Labbe: #36 DGM Racing Chevrolet – $7,800

Gotta go with at least one dedicated road course ringer.

I like Labbe. I definitely thought he would’ve been stronger at the Daytona road course as he finished 22nd, but his road racing experience can bode well for conditions like we’re seeing today.

Out of all these ringers in the field, I like where Labbe is priced at versus many of the others. Filling him in allows you to splurge with guys like AJ, Cindric, or KFB.

And that’s the best part: he’s not just a filler. The guy is solid. He’s been dominant in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series in the past. I really think he could run Top 10 today as it seems the equipment and results are starting to improve more over at DGM.

Two Top 10’s and one Top 5 in his last four road course starts adds enough validation for me to take a chance on Labbe. Be sure to keep an eye on qualifying later today.
