Alright, Garage Fam, The Folds of Honor QuickTrip 500 is here, and it’s time to leave Atlanta with all the NASCAR DFS bags on planet earth. Our very own Dale Tanhardt absolutely CRUSHED his best bets on Saturday in the Camping World Truck Series (and I mean legit SMASHED his card).
The theme this week is Smokey and The Bandit, and it’s important to remember that Snowman and Bandit successfully got a trailer full of Coors Beer from Texarkana Texas all the way to Atlanta Motor Speedway successfully. They were tailed hard by Smokey, and this week Smokey will be The Bookie (or DraftKings and FanDuel). No time to get caught up, we have money to make.
NASCAR DFS Gut Bois – Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500
#20 Christopher Bell (DK- $7.8K | FD – $9.5K)
Bell starts P8 this Sunday and has shown me enough to give him my blessing this weekend. Bell’s last win in Atlanta came in the form of his last Xfinity race in 2019, and he gained 9 spots for a P18 finish in last year’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
It’s looking like Almirola, Kurt Busch, and Cole Custer are some drivers close in price to him, and on DK I recommend having a little Custer, but more Bell. The car is fast, and with him having that dirt background I want to ring the bell this week. I’m calling a Top 5!
#9 Chase Elliott (DK – $9.8K | FD – $12K)
The Georgia Boi has arrived back in his homelands this week, and I’m feeling strong about him after a few races of monkey wrenches thrown at the NAPA team. Hendrick Motorsports has been fast as fuck this season thus far, and as we discussed in this weeks NASCAR DFS Preview Show, Knaus is bringing the Johnson energy in the front office.
Elliott hasn’t finished at this track better than P5 so far in his cup career, but I have some Chase Math to educate you with before placing your bets and setting lineups on Sunday. Chase starts in P5 on Sunday + His best finish at this track is P5 x 5 years ago Jimmie Johnson won this race / Me watching ATL 5 times in one year = Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott battling for the win on Sunday (You heard it here first).
#38 Anthony Alfredo (DK – $5.5K | FD – $4K)
Fast Pasta is back, and I love getting to talk about drivers that fuck with us on a regular basis. Obviously, I like Anthony this week because of him starting P32, and because of his Georgia Peanuts paint scheme. So many people are going to hammer the fuck out of Austin Cindric on Sunday, and I will most definitely have him in lineups, but I love Alfredo as a cheaper alternative to squeeze in some other drivers starting in the Top 12.
Alfredo has some solid place differential back in 2020 in the Xfinity series with RCR (Finishing P10), but other than speed, you have to have patience and consistency to maneuver this track. Anthony possesses that and should find himself in the Top 20 by the end of the race.
#18 Kyle Busch (DK – $10.7K | FD – $10.7K)
Busch has been good but not great, and including my free NASCAR picks this week, I’m playing all the Gibbs guys heavily except for Hamlin (which pains me but there’s too much to lose, and faster cars). Busch’s team admitted he’s having a rough time without practice, and I loved hearing that because the first step at overcoming your faults is admitting you have faults.
Busch is just so damn good here and has finished Top 10 in the past three races. He almost won the race last season as well and finished in P2. To further add to my Hendrick (I know Busch is a Gibbs guy so don’t get confused) Chase Math, the last time Busch started at this track in P19 was back when he raced for Hendrick, so I still think Hendrick wins, but I know for sure we’ll get a KFB Top 10.
