We’re Eastbound and Down to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 this Sunday. My NASCAR DFS game has been floating in another universe until last week when I finally saw some life on DraftKings and FanDuel. I was honestly getting ready to believe that William Byron’s new DMT paint scheme was the key to a wormhole, but the pivot and punt plays came through, and Truex came home with a win which ultimately restored my sanity and belief that the veterans can make a comeback.
We have seen some kick-ass racing at the intermediate tracks so far this season, and Hendrick Motorsports has dominated them both. Some would even say there are shades of Jimmie Johnson energy in that garage after seeing what William Byron and Kyle Larson were able to do at Homestead and Las Vegas, and it’s funny because Chad Knaus is now king of the castle (Dale’s dad has some interesting theories about it). Each of these drivers has a good chance to get the win on Sunday, and with Chase Elliott being the Hometown Kid this week, I’ve got my eye on him.
On the latest NASCAR DFS Preview Show, I traveled to the Heartland of America to shoot the show with our own Dale Tanhardt. Chef Boi is missing again so please keep an eye out for him this week in between staring at your March Madness brackets, and praying that Rodney Childers talks to God for Kevin Harvick on Sunday. Enjoy the show and then read more about the guys I’m on this week so we can all get these bags and make the Discord go crazy!

Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500: DraftKings, FanDuel DFS Picks
#19 Martin Truex Jr. – (DK – $9.6K | FD – $13.5K)
Truex Jr. is a sexy play this Sunday, and out of every driver that’s won so far this season, I would put my money on Truex to pull off a two peat. When running this track, Truex Jr. has six consecutive Top 10’s since 2015 and finished P3 last year. As mentioned on the NASCAR DFS Preview Show, he’s also a Junior, and that usually bodes well for race car drivers.
#5 Kyle Larson – (DK – $10K | FD – $12.5K)
Larson is on fire with speed and he’s starting P6 on Sunday. Before Larson’s return, his last race at this track resulted in a 12th place finish, but that was with Chip Ganassi, and I hate to say it but a Hendrick car is way more top-shelf. Look for Kyle to run inside the Top 10 for the entire race, and he could easily snag a Top 3 with the speed we’ve seen out of the Terry Two Time #5.
#8 Tyler Reddick – (DK – $8.4K | FD – $7.5K)
Red Dog hasn’t had a badass showing since Homestead a few weeks ago, and he may not snag a win in Atlanta, but starting in P29, he’s definitely worth a play on DraftKings and FanDuel. While most players will look to take Austin Cindric this week as the heavy chalk, Reddick makes a good pivot and has shown positive place differential in his one Cup Series race at this track. I’m expecting a Top 15 finish or better for Reddick on Sunday.
#6 Ryan Newman – (DK – $7.1K | FD – $6K)
Please stand up wherever you are and give a salute to the return of the Hot Dog King, Ryan Newman to my picks. Newman starts P28 (legit right in front of Reddick which means the train is coming in hot) on Sunday, and has never sealed the deal at this track, but has a ton of poles and positive place differential over the past two seasons when riding the cheese grader (shoutout to Larry Mac). Something is in the air over at Roush Fenway Racing this season, and there’s no way Ryan doesn’t score big for us on Sunday.
