GARAGE FAM!! Welcome to my first NASCAR DFS article of the season. It’s time to kick off Daytona week on DraftKings and FanDuel with the 43rd Annual Busch Clash at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course. There’s plenty of reasons to be excited about this race, but I can’t think of a better reason than it being Garage Guys’ first season as a stand-alone brand and site.
Chef Boi and I have worked harder than Adam Gase’s eyeballs to make sure you guys have an awesome experience this season. If you are new here, be sure to get to know who we are a little better by checking our Meet The Guys page, and If you know us, then you know what’s in store for the 2021 NASCAR DFS Season. Using our content, you should have no problem stacking cash and bagging tourneys, and It all starts now!
On Monday night, NASCAR Crew Chiefs picked random Busch Beer cans to determine where their drivers would start on Tuesday night for The Clash. Ryan Blaney lucked up by getting the pole but will be closely trailed by a determined Denny Hamlin starting in P3, and the race favorite Chase Elliott starting in P7. With this being the first Busch Clash on the Daytona Road Course, we are in for one wild ride that is sure to be full of surprises.

Busch Clash DFS Picks – DraftKings and FanDuel
#9 Chase Elliott – (DK – $10.5K | FD – $13K)
You just cant NOT play Elliott at a road course. Last season, Elliott claimed his crown as king of the road, and probably listened to his fair share of Gucci Mane and Drake’s underrated jam “Back On Road”. With Chase having the only win at this track, he’s worth the price starting in P7.
#10 Aric Almirola – (DK – $6.6K | FD – $7.5K)
The Bacon Boi is on cloud nine going into the Clash on Tuesday after his team (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) took home the Lombardi on Super Bowl Sunday. Unfortunately Almirola is probably not happy knowing he has to start the race in P21, but thats good news for us! Almirola should be heavily owned at his price and starting from the rear on Tuesday night.
#19 Martin Truex Jr. – (DK – $10K | FD – $12.5)
I spoke with MTJ last week about some of the shitty luck he’s had on pit road last season. You’ll all be happy to know that the 19 team has made some offseason improvements that should get Martin back in victory lane more than once this season. Truex Jr. is no stranger to the road with five straight Top 10 finishes across all road courses in the NASCAR Cup Series, and he’s a solid place differential play on Tuesday night starting in P18.
#1 Kurt Busch – (DK – $7.4K | FD – $8K)
I’m already back on my Buschit in 2021, and you should be to after the low key surprising season Kurt had last year. Busch has his game face on, and a brand new teammate to run with this year in Ross Chastain. Busch will start this race in P15, and had a Top 5 finish during his last road course run in 2020.

Garage Guy’s Gut Bois – DraftKings and FanDuel
#11 Denny Hamlin (DK- $9.6K | FD – $12K)
Dennis Hamlin is a sneaky play for the Clash and should be way less owned than Elliott and Truex based on their starting position. Hamlin recently spoke out about his sim time, and how he is itching to get a road course win this year. I can see Denny challenging Blaney for the lead early, but even if he cant hold Chase off, I’ll have him down for a Top 3.
#47 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (DK – $6.1K | FD – $7.5K)
The Mississippi man may not be the greatest road course driver, but when you’re starting in P20 you can expect to gain some ground. Stenhouse is known for his aggressiveness, and I can’t think of a better race than the Clash to unleash that energy in full force. We could see Ricky end the day with a Top 12, and at his price, he’s definitely worth a play.
#17 Chris Buescher (DK – $5.9K | FD – $7K)
Buescher always lands himself in my cheap driver pile, but at this course, in particular, it’s about more than just price. Buescher has a Top 5 at this track and is pretty damn good at the normal Daytona Speedway as well. He’ll start P13 on Tuesday night.
#24 William Byron (DK – $7.7K | FD – $9.5K)
Byron is by no means the sexiest play on the board and now that we know he’s starting in P5 you may feel like there’s more to lose than gain. Byron is my gut boi special of the race, and it’s been this way my whole week, so at this point, you’re either with me or your not. It’s a total hunch, but I feel like Byron is set to have a big year in 2021, and kicking it off with a Clash win doesn’t seem too far out of reach in my eyes (but in all the oddsmakers eyes it most certainly does).
